At the June 15, 2020, City Commission Meeting, Commissioner Richard Drummond nominated Robert Nestor, Manager of Universal Tire & Auto located at 300 West State Road 434, to receive the Business Person of the Month Award for July 2020

Robert has been in the automotive business for 23 years and began working at Universal Tire & Auto six years ago. Universal Tire & Auto is a family-owned and operated auto repair and tires center that has been in Longwood for the past six years.  Robert is an experienced technician with an ASE Certification, a service advisor, and a service manager. Additionally, he was recognized as one of the top 10 service advisors in the Country by Mazda USA.

Robert graduated High School with honors and was a semi-professional musician and guitar builder. He has automotive management training and is also a member of the “Who’s Who” automotive technician training through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) program. ASE is a non-profit organization that has worked to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals since 1972.

Robert is involved in the community and has previously volunteered with One Heart for Women and Children, whose mission is to provide the necessary resources for families as they transition through and overcome varying hardships of daily living in the Central Florida region and abroad.

The City of Longwood is truly pleased to have Universal Tire & Auto and Manager, Robert Nestor, as part of its business community.
