Deputy Mayor Brian Sackett nominated Deborah Perry, Realtor with Watson Realty located at 1445 West State Road 434, to receive the Business Person of the Month Award for January 2020 at the December 16, 2019 meeting.

Watson Realty has been in the city for several years and Ms. Perry celebrated her 6th year anniversary at Watson on January 7th, 2020. Watson Realty and Deborah Perry have been involved with the city of Longwood for several years both volunteering and donating over $1,200 towards events including National Night Out, Celebrate the Season, and the Longwood Christmas Parade.

Ms. Perry attended several colleges including Anne Arundel Community College, the University of Maryland for Informational Technology, Entrepreneur Business, and Business Management. At Seminole State College and the University of Central Florida her focus was on Insurance and Claim Management. She has taken Continued Educational Courses from Orlando Regional Realtor Association and the National Association of Realtors to enhance her skills for her Real Estate business and maintain license requirements.

After an extensive insurance management career, Deborah decided to change her career path and became a Realtor in July 2013. She then expanded her business in 2018 and became a Certified Professional Home Stager. Other certifications she has acquired include The Excellence in Professionalism – Gold Key Certification, Senior Real Estate Specialist, and Military Relocation Professional. Although Ms. Perry can provide Real Estate Service to anyone in the entire state of Florida, her business focus has been with the Longwood Community.

Ms. Perry is active in the community both within the city of Longwood and surrounding area. She is part of the Sweetwater Oaks Home Owner’s Association as a Recreation Member, she attends the Longwood Hills Congregational Church where she was in Leadership and Community Outreach as well as managed their local Food Pantry.  Currently, she is a Worship Ministry Leader for the church.  Deborah is a Second Harvest Food Bank Council Member and has coordinated food drives for them.  She is also a Church Representative for The Christian Sharing Center and a Sponsor of the Longwood Babe Ruth Little League.  For the past several years she has worked alongside XL106.7 Radio Station supporting their Baby DJ toy drive. Recently, she has been involved with sponsoring events for Longwood Elementary School where she coordinates the School Supply, Food Drives, and toy collection for their Angel Tree.

Ms. Perry takes pride in working with Veterans and seniors providing Real Estate Education, Resources and Benefits that they would be eligible to receive. She has developed a series of Real Estate Seminars for First Time Homebuyers and Seniors Downsizing in 2020.  

The City of Longwood is truly pleased to have Watson Realty and Realtor, Deborah Perry, as part of its business community.
