At the October 21 2019, City Commission Meeting, Mayor Matt Morgan nominated Rajinder Dua, owner, and president of Country Kitchen located at 260 West State Road 434, to receive the Business Person of the Month Award for November 2019.
Mr. Dua was born in India and migrated to the United States in 1989. He is a proud family man with two children and four grandchildren. He has loved being a part of Seminole County and is a proud resident of Longwood for the past 27 years.
Rajinder or as he rather is called, Raj, has dedicated 20 years to his restaurant, Country Kitchen. Country Kitchen is a full service, family restaurant that serves both traditional breakfast and lunch for very reasonable prices. During those 20 years at one point, Mr. Dua owned eight restaurants in the Seminole County area. As he now is closer to retirement, Raj has decided to just keep Country Kitchen.
Mr. Dua also spends his time glass blowing of which he has become a professional. He finds happiness in giving back to his community. That is the reason he has donated and helped a couple of churches in Longwood. He participates and donates time and food in the Annual Soup Bowl Supper for Pathways to Care. Pathways to Care is a nonprofit respite center dedicated to providing health, housing, and hope to Central Florida’s most vulnerable population. The Annual Soup Bowl Supper is held to benefit the hundreds of homeless veterans and non-veteran men and women in need of temporary housing as they recover from an acute medical illness or injury.
The City of Longwood is truly pleased to have Owner and President, Raj Dua, and Country Kitchen Restaurant as part of its business community.
