At the March 5, 2018 City Commission Meeting, the Longwood City Commission presented Michael Towers, CEO of Oakwood Construction and Development, located at 754 Fleet Financial Court, to receive the Business Person of the Month Award for March 2018.   

Mr. Towers is a developer specializing in office warehouse development and estate homes.  He has over nineteen years of experience as a developer. Oakwood Construction and Development specializes in high-end, multi-family, residential development in the Longwood (Central) area of Florida.  He also has over thirty-nine years of automotive claims and litigation experience, holds certification as an I-Car Gold Class automotive repair expert, has been recognized by multiple judicial circuits as an expert in auto collision, human dynamics and repair, and has testified twice before the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Car Rental Task Force.

Mr. Towers currently serves as Chairman for Community Leaders and Elected Officials (CLEO), has served on the Board of Directors for the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center, Kids House of Seminole, Safe House of Seminole (Domestic Violence Shelter), is a former Chairman of the Board for Habitat for Humanity, and is a member of the Private Business Association of Seminole (PBAS).

Mr. Towers is known in his community for being a philanthropist, and he was instrumental in helping to start the Longwood Police Department’s Citizens on Patrol (COP) program.  He has donated two vehicles to the COP program.  Most recent, he assisted Commissioner Morgan in organizing the Candyland Clash Event to raise money for Longwood Babe Ruth League at Candyland Park.

The City of Longwood is very pleased to have Michael Towers and Oakwood Construction and Development as a part of its business community.
