The proclamation presented to Clint Gioielli by the City Commission on August 21, 2023 read as follows:
WHEREAS, Clint Gioielli was born in Orlando, Florida and raised in Sanford, Florida. He and his wife, Shahenaz, and son Shaan are residents of Longwood. His two other sons, Kevon and Anthony, were raised in Longwood, and Kevon works in the Medical Field, and Anthony is an officer at the Longwood Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Clint Gioielli graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia College and a Masters in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. He also graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Law Enforcement Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He also served as an adjunct professor at both Seminole State College and Columbia College; and
WHEREAS, Clint Gioielli became involved with the Longwood Police Department in 1993 as an Explorer. His career in Law Enforcement with the Longwood Police Department began in February 1998, spanning 25 years. He has served as a police officer, bicycle officer, motorcycle officer, school resource officer, field trainer, high liability trainer, community relations officer, traffic homicide investigator, and accreditation manager. In 2003, he was promoted to Sergeant and received the Police Departments and City of Longwood’s Employee of the Year. In 2015, he was promoted to Lieutenant and then 2018 to Deputy Chief. During his time at the Police Department, he established the Community Relations Unit and created the RuOK Program, which is still in place today. He reorganized the curriculum, modernizing the material and method of presentation and documentation for the field training program and the community relations unit. He has organized countless special events, from DUI operations to parades and large-scale community events; and
WHEREAS, Clint Gioielli in 2020, moved into the role of Acting City Manager, then effective March 5, 2023, the City Commission confirmed his appointment as City Manager. Since assuming the role, he has managed several important endeavors, including COVID management, implementation of automated water meters and police body cameras, obtaining a new fire station and ladder truck while not increasing debt and maintaining a respectable fund reserve; and
WHEREAS, Clint Gioielli has also been a business owner with his wife of a multi-location national franchise and a current business owner of Evolve Psychiatric Services in the Historic District of Longwood.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tony Boni, Mayor of the City of Longwood, Florida, with the entire City Commission, City staff, and the residents of the City of Longwood, Florida, do hereby recognize Clint Gioielli as an outstanding public servant, dedicated Longwood Citizen with a vision for the City and community; and as the recipient of the City of Longwood Key to the City Award.
