Opportunity to Volunteer for the Community

The City of Longwood invites local citizens with an interest in building a safe community to volunteer in its Citizen on Patrol (COP) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) are trained by the Longwood Fire Department to educate people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Citizens on Patrol (COP) are trained by the Longwood Police Department. They patrol your neighborhoods, industrial and business areas acting as extra "eyes and ears" for law enforcement. The main goals and purpose are to observe and report all suspicious activities and never to engage, apprehend or follow individuals suspected of suspicious activities.
