Armed Forces & First Responder Banner Program

 The City of Longwood is both proud and excited to be able to offer the opportunity to those interested in purchasing a recognition or memorial banner for armed forces veterans as well as current or former first responders (police and fire).


  • Banners are 24” wide and 48” long. 
  • Banners will be installed by city staff at Candyland Sports Complex along a popular walkway in close proximity to our baseball fields. This area provides onlookers with the ability to casually stroll through the park and view the banners at a leisurely pace. 
  • Banners will be displayed approximately from May 22nd through November 22nd or from November 23rd through May 21st. 
  • City staff will review the recipient’s DD214 form prior to moving forward with the banner process for the armed forces banner option. The banner recipient must be on active duty or honorably discharged from one of the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces or an active or retired first responder. 
  • The cost per banner is $195.00 which includes the design, production, installation, and removal of the banner. Banners must be requested and paid for by the serviceperson or first responder or an immediate family of the service member or first responder to be honored. (Immediate family includes parents, spouses, children, and siblings.)
  • Payments will be accepted in the form of checks, cash, or credit card (2.95% processing fee added for credit cards). 
  • Banners will be displayed on the poles in the pictures to the right.

***IMPORTANT:  FILLING OUT THE APPLICATION FORM DOES NOT GUARANTEE APPROVAL FOR THE BANNER.  ALL BANNERS MUST BE APPROVED BY STAFF.  STAFF WILL RESPOND TO APPLICANTS WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS ONCE APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED.
