Comprehensive Plan & Development Review

Site development and land uses in the City of Longwood are primarily regulated by the Comprehensive Plan and the Longwood Development Code, both of which are available online for your convenience via Municode.

This page will be particularly helpful for planners, architects, and engineers who are preparing site development plans or other documents for your project.

Longwood Comprehensive Plan

The foundation for implementing the City’s development review process is the Longwood Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan establishes the City’s goals, objectives, and policies that are carried out by the Longwood Development Code (LDC).  You can view the Comprehensive Plan here.

Longwood Development Code (LDC)

The LDC includes planning procedures and technical standards such as allowable landscape materials, parking requirements, lot dimension standards, and other requirements. The Longwood Development Code can be accessed here.

Adopted Ordinances Not Yet Codified

From time to time, new ordinances are adopted by the City Commission that are in effect but have not yet been codified into Municode. Until those ordinances have been incorporated into Municode, you can view the text of those ordinances here.
