The City of Longwood Fire Department will be accepting applications for Firefighting Positions which may become available over the next 12 months. Due to pending retirements and possible grant funding, the total number of positions available during the next year may be 1-8. The City of Longwood, FL. Fire Department is attempting to create a pool of eligible candidates to fill positions as they become available. Candidates must be at minimum; a State of Florida Certified Firefighter (FF Level 2 or "Standards"), a State of Certified EMT or Paramedic (Paramedic preferred) and hold a current and valid State of Florida Driver's License. Completed Fire Rescue Applications must be mailed or delivered to City of Longwood - Human Resources at 175 W. Warren Ave. Longwood, FL 32750 prior to 5:00 PM May 31, 2012. They will NOT be accepted after 5-31-2012.

Candidates MUST successfully complete the Seminole State College Firefighter Skills Assessment on May 4, 2012. For this application period, ONLY the above Firefighter Skills / physical ability test will be accepted. No prior test at this facility or skills / ability testing results from other institutions will be considered by the City of Longwood.
