The City of Longwood employs approximately 146 people in numerous different positions throughout the City’s departments. The widely diverse workforce performs functions ranging from City administrator to part time park attendant – everything needed to run a city.

The City’s personnel division coordinates all employment related matters for the city. It is the starting point of any career with the City. All job applicants go through the personnel division as part of the employment process.

How To Apply
Should you be qualified for a position that is not currently open, you may complete an Interest Card and you will be notified when the position becomes available. This card remains on file for six months, after which you would need to resubmit an updated interest card.
With a job opening, formal applications and a Firefighter Application are necessary of all applicants, however some positions may require additional materials, resumes, etc. Background testing is conducted on all successful applicants prior to employment.
Police applicants must pass a test and applications are then given out.
Please remember that the City of Longwood is a drug free workplace, therefore upon the offer of a position with the city, a drug test is performed.
