Welcome vendors! The City of Longwood continues to seek new sources of supply and to expand our vendor database. The Vendor Guide has been designed to explain the purchasing process and to provide vendors and the public with an overview of the methods used by the City of Longwood's Purchasing Division, which provides the commodities and services required by the various Departments within the City.
The City of Longwood's procurement process is designed to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all vendors and individuals who deal with the Procurement system. The Purchasing Division is responsible for ensuring that the procurement process is efficient, effective and fair and that tax dollars are spent wisely. On behalf of all of City of Longwood departments, all purchases are made through the Purchasing Division located at 175 West Warren Avenue, Longwood, FL 32750.
VENDORS, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT A PURCHASE ORDER OR CONTRACT MUST BE ISSUED BY THE PURCHASING DIVISION ONLY AND IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO THE DELIVERY OF ANY GOODS AND/OR SERVICES. IF YOU PROVIDE GOODS AND/OR SERVICES TO THE CITY WITHOUT A PURCHASE ORDER OR CONTRACT, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK AND HAVE NO ASSURANCE OF PAYMENT.
If you wish to visit a City department to introduce or demonstrate a product or service, you should contact the Purchasing Division to coordinate the demonstration.
The principal objective of the Purchasing Division is to purchase the equipment, materials, and services as required by the City Departments while at the same time to maximize, to the fullest extent practical, the purchasing value of public funds of the City. All major purchases are made through a competitive system of formal and informal bidding. This ensures that purchases are awarded to the lowest, most responsible and responsive bidder in compliance with the bid specifications, terms and conditions.
