The Florida Municipal Pension Trust Fund Retirement Plan and Trust for Firefighters & Police Officers reviews and administers the Police Officers and Firefighters Pension Plan. They meet quarterly on the first Tuesday of the month in March, June, September, and December in the Commission Chambers at 7:00 p.m. The Pension Board consists of five trustees. Two trustees are appointed by the City Commission and shall be city residents. One trustee is elected by the Police plan members, and one trustee is elected by the Firefighter plan members. The fifth trustee shall be chosen by a majority of the other four trustees whose name shall be submitted to the Commission who, as a ministerial duty, appoints the fifth trustee. All trustees serve for a two year term.
