The City of Longwood has six Boards and Committees; Board of Adjustment, Codes Enforcement Board, Land Planning Agency, Florida Municipal Pension Trust Fund Retirement Plan and Trust for Firefighters & Police Officers, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and Charter Review Committee. Most of the members are citizens who are appointed by the City Commission and supported by City staff. They are community involved citizens who dedicate and volunteer their time and talents to support and promote the City. Each board has a stated purpose that fits into the framework of City government and provides a link between the citizens and the elected officials.
