The Community Development Services Department provides planning, building, and economic development services for the City.

The Community Development Division is responsible for long-range planning, development and permit review.  The Community Development Division assists the community to define and implement the City's vision.  Click here to learn more about the Community Development Division or to download printable permit applications. 

The Building Division is responsible for taking in permit applications, administering the permit review process, issuing permits, performing inspections, and issuing certificates of occupancy. Click here to learn more about the Building Division and download printable permit applications. 

Pre-Development Inquiry Meetings

In order to better serve the Longwood community, the City of Longwood Community Development Services Department will hold weekly Pre-Development Inquiry Sessions with interested home and business owners save time and money by identifying any issues early in the process. This no-cost meeting will include representatives from the Community Development and Building Divisions, Engineering, and the Fire Department, and will help identify the requirements and processes that will get projects moving in a fast and efficient manner.

Pre-Development meetings are held every Thursday afternoon from 3:00 – 5:00. Applications must be submitted by 4:00 P.M. Thursday of the week prior to the desired meeting date. Appointments are limited to 30 minutes. In the event that no times are available for the upcoming week applications will be scheduled for the next available meeting date.
